Where arts education speaks for itself.

Join the Arts Education Partnership (AEP) in Jacksonville, Florida for our 2026 Annual Convening! This year’s event offers the opportunity for learning and networking — and just as importantly, an opportunity to celebrate our collective work and to ensure everyone has access to an excellent arts education. Whether your goal is to build your personal network, take part in thoughtful discussions or enjoy the company of leaders across the nation in sunny Florida, the Annual Convening is the place to be on Sept. 1-4.

The Annual Convening brings together leaders from all levels and role groups in the arts education ecosystem working towards a shared mission of advancing arts education.

  • If this is your first time attending the event, we are working to make you feel welcomed and inspired and hope you leave as an integral part of our network.
  • If you have attended past AEP convenings, we invite you to join us with an open mind to experience an event where all attendees are involved and engaged as experts in building a welcoming community together.
  • Registrants who complete the AEP bi-annual survey are eligible to receive 10% off their registration. Your feedback helps us improve AEP’s offerings and better support your needs, so we encourage you to take a few minutes to share your input. Once the survey is completed, you will receive the promo code to apply to your registration.

Why the Annual Convening Matters Now More Than Ever:

State education leaders today are navigating:

  • Increasing policy complexity across early learning, K–12, postsecondary and workforce systems.
  • Rapid innovation alongside persistent challenges related to access, outcomes and opportunity.
  • Greater public visibility and scrutiny of education decisions.

Arts and education funders are navigating:

  • Shifts in funding from federal sources to states and private funders, increasing competition for limited funds.
  • Pressures from the nonprofit sector to streamline grantmaking requirements and update processes to better serve the field.
  • Decisions about remaining politically neutral or aligning with partisan agendas.

Arts and education leaders are navigating:

  • Funding uncertainty that drives leaders to consider closures, mergers and other strategies to continue services.
  • Polarization of values central to the arts.
  • Policy decisions that threaten the continuation of arts education programs in schools and communities.
